Memorial ceremony for the Dir- Yassin Massacre from 1948 - 10th of april 2011

We went to tour in the neighbourhood Givat Shaol in Jerusalem which a part of it used to be an Arab village called Dir Yassin.
Omer was our tour guide for this Mermorial ceremony . He is working in the organisation called Zohrot which means We remember. While marching we had been told the history of this village and its one day massacre.
It was interesting to understand how memories can be deleted from their landscape. Thanks to Omer's tour we had the chance to notice and acknowledge the remains of the village. We saw three houses that left from that tragic history.  They are now occupied by office or private families. We learned that one of those used to be the girls schools of Dir- Yassin.

We went to what once was the center of the village,  which since 1951 became a mental hospital where the first patients were holocaust survivors.
It's not allowed to enter this area.
